“KOGIN” was created in Tsugaru, Aomori prefecture, Japan during the EDO period. This technique is used to thicken and reinforce cloth making it both warmer and more durable. A long needle is used to pass the thread through the fabric weave. "KOGIN" thread is thicker than "SASHIKO" and requires a heavier needle.
